I have been saying that government intervention is a total wild card in this market. Do you disagree that the government isn't manipulating the market? If you do agree, wouldn't it make sense to then analyze their agenda?????

I've posted in other threads what I think the effects of government intervention are likely to be. Probably in one of the threads which was
later hijacked by you or GenXer. The problem is that talk radio has persuaded you that their "agenda" is something sinister, which is
what leads to your long and tedious rants.
I'd never thought about it, but I think Kaidran is right. This kind of thing
makes this a much less interesting forum than it might be. Admin take note ! |

I'm only ragging on you Kadrian because you called me a pig. And that I can.... I understand why you try to adapt and adopt what you think the in-crowd thinks. You can't formulate your own thoughts and your role in the group think is to attack those that have a different perspective. You think you will be accepted that way. Please for the benefit of the blog post in the Open Discussion... ha, ha, ha..... How about, hey John, I disagree here is my point.... just keep telling tea party jokes and you'll fit in. I so badly want to read something intelligent you write about the housing market so I can say "bravo".
If you listen to me you will get the best value. If you become a follower and don't expose yourself and think, you'll have some yuppie couple steamroll you and get you to overpay for their tiny shack like that $487k place you showed us. You're going to have to stop being aq snob to see the opportunities which is why I am pressing you.
Tell us what you think the market is going to do and why? I'm a pig huh? |

I don't listen to talk radio. And what would that matter. Yet again semantic academics and attacking anyone with a different point of view. If you're so open minded why does this bother you?
I think kick-backs to the Unions are sinister don't you? Do you disagree that the government isn't giving them special deals? Aren't Unions special interests? Didn't the head of the Unions visit with Obama behind closed doors and get himself a special deal?
Is it a crime to talk about this? Are you like the Gestapo? Why are you coming on so strong if someone points out facts about Obama?
Obama isn't telling the truth and he is creating too much uncertainty in the Market and shame on you for vilifying anyone who disagrees with you. Don't people deserve to hear these facts?
Did Obama get help buying hiws house from someone that got caught on 16 counts of political corruption, yes or no? $100 says you don't answer that!
It matters because if he is dishonest people have to know it so trhey can guard against it. Do you think he will raise taxes even though he promised not to hundreds of times? Come on MPR answer that.
If taxes do go up, won't that affect affordability and thus the housing market.
Don't cower behind the Fox News defense. If you're right you can answer those questions.
It isn't that things are sinister, the issue is that the policies are lemons. Ask yourself, why are the areas with the biggest political machines with Unions total corrupt armpits? I don't want Massachusetts to end up like New Jersey, Detroit, California, Illinois, etc. After all my research I believe that it all comes down to values. Imagine in ten years having 20 casinos in New England and areas will be like Atlantic City. They are making a movie about Jack Abramoff and in Massachusetts our jack Abramoff is a Democrat.
If we get casinos in Massachusetts New Hampshire will get them and stick them on the border towns. Now won't that hurt their property values? Is that observation off limits? Again, politics, the likes we've never seen is affecting the housing market.
MPR do you agree or disagree that a casino affects the housing prices in surrounding?
Are you and Kadrian now setting the rules on this blog?
Here's a challenge for you MPR, try to find the first time Obama, Patrick, or Barney Frank ever mentioned predatory lending. I'll bet it was after what I wrote in the Boston Globe.
Most of the people that listened to Barney Frank got hurt. MPR do you think Barney Frank was a positive or negative influence in the housing bubble? - doubt you answer... |

Yes, this is looking a lot like the pig wrestling I was hoping to avoid.
John you have every right to all of you opinions, what you seem to be refusing to acknowledge is that they dont have any relevance to whether OBrien should or should not buy a condo.
I would not be surprised at all to find that you know more about the South Boston market than I do, but if so why are you going to such great lengths to keep that information to yourself?
My point has always been that it is inappropriate for you to hijack threads for your personal agenda. If you want to talk about Fox News or Barney Frank then just start your own topic, that way people that wanted to discuss this with you would have the opportunity. Better yet go to a political forum where people actively go to discuss such things, you will likely get a much more lively conversation. As far as I know there is no limit to the number of threads you can start so you can post as many as you can type. You can "educate" as many people as choose to read them without disrupting the flow of other conversations.
I did mean what I said about you harming this community. What do you think someone opening a forum thread entitled, "South Boston Condos", is hoping to read about? |

I just read your post two up John. There is an expression: don't wrestle a pig, you get dirty and the pig enjoys it. I assumed you would have heard of it.
I have no interest at all in discussion politics with you but I do think it is very funny that you think I am trying to follow anyone. It seems you are most offended that it is not you. I would actually value your opinion on actual factual issues but you seem unable or unwilling to separate them from your political views.
Again, post whatever you like but please do it in an appropriate place. |
