Breaking news: The Chairman of the Federal Reserve says he plans to continue plans to raise interest rates this year. Some economists & others fear interest rates may ultimately rise again over 6%.

Should homebuyers in Boston & beyond try to time the housing market? What's your strategy -- buy before rates go up, make prudent offers but refrain from bidding wars, sit out 2018 and wait to see if a price correction unfolds in coming years?

The housing market could be in for a shock from rising interest rates and the new tax law

I'm expecting a price correction in the next 1-3 years. It has been tough to sit on the sidelines but I think that it was the right choice.

Any homebuyers watching these headlines? What's your take -- just "low inventory," or something else beginning to manifest itself?

Another one for this thread: Zillow says that one in four homes sold over their asking price last year.

Younger buyers may not realize how the real estate industry has "normalized" that practice and the potential to manipulate homebuyers with BLIND bidding wars. Here's what we wrote three years ago:

Fooled again? Let’s use tech to reform real estate / BLIND biddings wars

With both sales & pending sales down, do any homebuyers fear overpaying in BLIND #BiddingWars?

Will 2018 bring #BiddingWarBacklash? Will feeling blue morph into feeling misled?
